Where we are right now

We are currently working on forces, motion, speed and acceleration.  We have completed a lab on speed and acceleration and everyone should be working on completing 2 graphs for that lab.  Graphs are due to be turned in this Friday for blue classes and the following Monday for red classes.  In addition, all students should be finishing their worksheet on Balancing Chemical Equations.  Those are due now...some students have already turned them in.

Today and Monday all classes will be learning about Newton's Laws of Motion.  This information is in the textbook and everyone should be able to answer the EQ about those laws easily.

Parents, from motion and forces, we will be moving to the section on simple machines.  There will be some computer work in the classroom and one or two homework assignments regarding simple machines.

The homework assignment for my 1st and 4th block students today is to complete a worksheet on Electron Dot Diagrams and Lewis Structures.  They should be completing electron dot diagrams like we did in class today.  They should be using a copy of the Periodic Table of Elements from the textbook to determine the number of valence electrons.  For today's classes the assigment is due Friday, October 17.

Welcome to the blog

This is the first entry for my blog.  I will be making entries here regarding what goes on in class each day and assignments that are due.  There will also be ways for students to earn Caught You passes and possibly even Homework passes by coming to the blog and checking entries.  From time to time, I may even post answers to questions that will be used on quizzes and tests in both Social Studies and Science.  So come back often.  Feel free to leave comments and questions.
